Pre-requisite: A pass in Hindi language in PUC or pass in DBHPS Rastrabhasha

Course Objectives

• Familiarising the many facets of Hindi Literature: Essay, Ancient Poetry, Modern Poetry, Drama, Literary Criticism
• Familiarising Hindi Poets and Authors
• In-depth understanding of Hindi with appreciation of literary texts

Course Structure & Syllabus

This course is designed for Intermediate level students. The curriculum includes:

• Study of Hindi Poetry, Stories, One-Act Plays, Dramas, Essays, and Translation
• Regional Language paper in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, or Marathi

Examination Papers:

• Paper 1: Text, Poetry (100 marks)
• Paper 2: Short Stories, Drama, Grammar (100 marks)
• Paper 3 Part 1: Essay, Translation, Precise Writing (100 marks)
• Paper 3 Part 2: Regional Language

Learning Outcomes

• Strong grasp of Hindi literary forms
• Ability to write essays on general topics
• Confidence in speaking informal Hindi and giving short lectures
